Zwift TT League: Round 1 Results

ZTT Round 1 Results

Round 1 expands to two races

Lungs were burst and legs turned to jelly on Round 1 of the Zwift Time Trial League. A massive registration of almost 450 riders caused the designated race on Friday evening to fill to capacity with Triathlon Ireland riders making up more than 3/4s of the entire field!

As a result, a second race was added to Round 1 - on the exact same course the following morning, allowing almost 100 other riders get on the score sheet for Round 1. We will try to avoid this problem in subsequent rounds by selecting time trials with as high a capacity as possible - bear with us!

Brennan Burns the competition

Friday night saw Eddie Brennan put down a strong marker as he completed the Tempus Fugit course in 22mins 21secs to take the maximum 1000 points! Next behind him was former duathlon national champ Paul Carroll with a time of 23mins 10secs giving Saturday's racers a two high targets to aim for. Michael McCarron came closest in 23mins 12secs - just two seconds shy of Carrol's time and took third in Round 1 of the league, gaining 855 points in the process.

Kellly the Fastest

Dympna Kelly and Roisin Parkenham (Piranha TC) had a battle royale in the women's race with Kelly coming out just 26secs in front to take the first 1,000 haul of the league. Racing on Saturday, Parkenham completed the course in 25mins 44secs - enough to give her second overall with IRONMAN and International Age Group veteran June McMinn coming in third place on 26mins 08secs.

IMPORTANT Notes on Round 1 results

Some riders forgot to change their primary team to Triathlon Ireland before the race and so will not show up in the Zwift Power results table. This is also the case even if you raced under Triathlon Ireland and changed your team back to another after the race. All riders who registered with us for the league are included in the our results sheet - this differs slightly from the Zwift Power results.

We are not using rider categories for the league table - league results are based purely on your Zwift Time. Instead of power categories, Age Groups are being applied to results to better reflect triathlon style racing.

If you spot any errors in the results or if you have been left out, please email us and we will do our best to solve your issues.

All results will be considered final at 5pm on Tuesday, 5 May.
