For the last six weeks over 590 people have taken part in Run and Ride for Pieta, taking on a different challenge each week and raising funds for Pieta House. The final challenge for the Starter and Expert Challengers was a sprint distance and a middle distance duathlon respectively. Congratulations to everyone who completed their duathlon!

The challengers have been completing their Week 6 duathlon for the last week, and to date have raised almost €4,500 for Pieta House! View the Week 6 Results on our Results Base page.

'Off the Ball' Complete their Duathlon

On Friday morning seven members of the Off the Ball team completed their Run and Ride for Pieta, with all seven completing a sprint distance duathlon - running 5 kilometres, riding 20 kilometres and running 2.5 kilometres! Five of the team; Ger Gilroy, Adrian Barry, Thom Malone, Enda Coll and Nathan Murphy, took on their challenge in a very windy Phoenix Park. Tommy Rooney and Shane Hannon completed their duathlons in Clare and Monaghan respectively - where the conditions also posed a challenge! See how they got on in their review below.

In summarising his experience, Off the Ball's Ger Gilroy said;

"The overall sense of wellbeing and achievement that you get from being able to do something that you just didn't think you were going to be able to do at any point, and then to actually do it, is amazing"

"All in all the type of thing you don't think you're going to be able to do when someone says you're going to have to run, cycle and then run again. And you can't do it the first time you try it but over a period of time, and then eventually on the day, you suddenly find the ability to do it."
