Moving Towards Phase 3

Moving Towards Phase 3

As we draw closer to the June 29th date for Phase 3 in the relaxing of Covid-19 measures, Triathlon Ireland is finalising protocols with Sport Ireland and the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport that will allow multi-sport activities recommence fully in a safe and responsible manner.

This work is ongoing and we hope to be able to share details shortly.

Rules Currently in Place

In the meantime, specific rules around individual and club training remain in place. Individuals are allowed to train outdoors within their county, or up to 20km from their home, whichever is greater; and clubs may train outdoors in groups of up to 15 people at any one time.

These guidelines in full can be read here.

A detailed set of policies have also been drawn up to allow multi-sport events take place this summer and a number of races are available for entry right now on the race calendar section of our website.

The triathlon community of our clubs, individual triathletes and officials have all played a valuable part in ensuring both societies on the island of Ireland have flattened the curve of Covid-19 infection. However the infection is still present and we urge all triathletes to maintain social distancing measures and abide by the guidelines for our sport.
