Want to be a Triathlon Advocate?

Triathlon Ireland are looking for Triathlon Advocates! 2020 will be a special year for women in sport and we want to celebrate this by supporting six women on their journey.

The Triathlon Advocates will be an important part of the final year of our current "Equally Inspiring" Women in Sport Strategy, and we are really excited to share your triathlon stories. In Triathlon Ireland's support of the 20x20 campaign, we have pledged to increase the number of women taking part in triathlon by 20% by the end of 2020, as an advocate you will be central to this exciting campaign.

We are looking for women who are passionate about triathlon and about sharing their journey in the sport. As a member of your local club, being an advocate means encouraging women in your club and your local community with their triathlon journeys, and championing the sport!

Triathlon Ireland will support you by telling your story throughout the year on our website and social media, providing personal development opportunities and an entry to a BMW Triathlon National Series race of your choice! There's also some awesome training kit and a tri suit to help you reach your goals for next year - whether that is completing your first standard distance race, or topping the BMW Triathlon National Series podium!

The Advocate Role

Central to being an advocate is simply loving triathlon! Triathletes are hugely passionate about their sport and this is infectious. Our advocates will champion the sport in their community for new and experienced triathletes alike.

  • Act as an Advocate for female triathlon in your local area, Triathlon Ireland and the triathlon community.

  • Encourage and support other female triathletes where possible.

  • Take part in Triathlon Ireland’s social media initiatives, 20x20 campaign and other publicity as necessary.

  • Provide some social media content for races you take part in. This can be as simple as tagging Triathlon Ireland in your posts so that we can engage with you.

  • Support the Women’s Triathlon Event in 2020 (date TBC)
