Odon Supporting Emerging Talent

Triathlon Ireland and O'Driscoll O'Neil Insurance are delighted to announce an exciting partnership that will help develop the next generation of world class Irish triathletes.

Developing the international stars of the future is a major goal for Triathlon Ireland, and now thanks to the support of ODON, TI will be able to foster the next generation of elite triathletes by facilitating foundation level training and education in teenage athletes.

The Chief Executive of Triathlon Ireland, Chris Kitchen said the Emerging Talent Programme has made huge progress already. He said ODON's support is recognition of the success of the programme and will also help TI go even further.

"Triathlon Ireland has developed an Emerging Talent Programme to find nurture and develop the stars of the future. I have absolutely no doubt that we have world class triathletes in the island of Ireland  who can go on to be European World and or Olympic prospects. The funding from ODON will help leverage this programme and help provide that initial step on the high performance pathway."

Healthy Living

Triathlon Ireland's key message of encouraging active participation in sport for people of all ages and abilities is a major reason why ODON is getting behind the Emerging Talent Programme, according to the company director, Declan Troy.

Mr Troy believes the young athletes on the Emerging Talent Programme are role models for healthy living: “We are happy to be in partnership and support any organisation that encourages young people to be active. These days participation in sport or exercise of any kind is not only important for your physical health but for your mental health too. So it doesn’t matter if you’re training for a triathlon or for a 5k run, O’Driscoll O’Neil Ltd. will be here to support you all the way.”
