A group of 9 young athletes from the TI Junior Squad were invited to take part in a week long High Performance training camp being held in University Limerick.

The camp is being remotely over seen by High Performance Director Chris Jones with TI coaches Elena Masolva, Stephen Delaney, Stephen Teeling Lynch and Lynne Algar all on site to help the athletes in their training.

The camp will provide valuable information and data on the athlete’s performances and will allow coaches to tailor future training programmes to meet the needs of each individual. It is also an opportunity to learn some of the finer details of triathlon and perform some specific triathlon training such as ‘brick sessions’.

Athletes in attendance are Con Doherty, Aaron O’Brian, Conor Rooney, Stephen Rooney, Maedbh Hurst, Kieran Jackson, Rory Sexton, Chris Mintern and Conor O’Keefe.

Chris Mintern has left camp early to compete in the ITU Tiszaujvaros Junior European Cup which is a sign in itself of the standard which the TI Junior High Performance team are striving for.
