On Sunday, 30th September over one hundred women arrived in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal with one goal - complete a triathlon. Tri-gether women's triathlon was organised by Letterkenny 247 TC with aim of encouraging more women to take on their first triathlon in a fun atmosphere.

Tri-gether Pool

The pool based swim took place at Aura Leisure Centre, competitors had the choice between taking part in the Super-Sprint (400 metre swim) or Sprint (750 metre swim) races. Both distances covered the same 20 kilometre bike and five kilometre run courses. Once out of the pool the athletes were able to enjoy fast and flat routes through the Donegal countryside.

Tri-gether Finish Line

The atmosphere on the day was second to none, with first time triathletes receiving huge cheers as they exited the pool, in transition and crossing the finish line.

The sprint distance race was won by Natasha Kelly, with Anne Paul finishing second and Bronagh O'Gara in third. In the super-sprint race, Amelia Tyler topped the podium, Edie Carroll second and Maeve Corry third.
