Paratriathlete Cassie Cava has claimed bronze in her PTS3 race at the WTS Grand Final in Gold Coast. Cava completed the 750m swim in 12.55, coming out of the water almost two minutes ahead of France's Elise Marc, and holding that lead on the bike. It was on the run that Marc and eventual winner Anna Plotnikova from Russia overtook Cava.

Cassie was thrilled to medal at the WTS Grand Final, triathlon's world championships;

"I’m delighted to come away with a medal from the World Champs, and really pleased to have been first out of the water and hold that lead throughout the bike. I’ve had constant niggly issues with my prosthetic leg and the fit which have meant I haven’t had any consistent running this season or at all since I lost my leg really, so that is a work in progress!"

A great way to end her 2018 season of triathlon, Cassie is already looking forward to racing in 2019;

"I’ve learnt a huge amount racing this season and I’m really excited for a solid winter of training ahead and to get back out racing and see what I can do next season!"
