Donegal Try-a-Tri Programme

Have you ever wanted to complete a triathlon? Well now is your chance. The sport of triathlon has never been more popular and every year people of all ages and abilities complete their first event.

Starting in early March, Triathlon Ireland will host a Try-a-Tri programme aimed at men and women who are completely new to the sport and have never previously completed a triathlon. The six week course will culminate in all course members competing in a Try-a-Tri (swim 250m, bike 5km, run 1.5km) at the Letterkenny 24/7 race at the end of April.

Training sessions will be held twice a week and will consist of one swim and one bike or run session.

Details

All sessions will take place at Aura Leisure Centre, Letterkenny.

The first swim session for Group 1 will be on the 7th March at 7am.

The first swim session for Group 2 will be on the 9th March at 7am.

(All participants will be split into two groups. One group will swim on a Tuesday morning and one will swim on a Thursday morning. This is due to restricted pool availability.) Once registered you will be assigned a Tuesday or Thursday slot.

Bike/Run Sessions will take place on Saturday morning at 9:30am as one large group.

Total cost including six weeks of coached sessions, race entry to the Letterkenny 24/7 Try-a-Tri race on the April 23rd and Triathlon Ireland One Day Membership for the race is €100.
