Ulster Schools Duathlon Competition

Mondello Kids Duathlon 2

Triathlon Ireland, in partnership with Peninsula Triathlon Club are very pleased to announce the inaugural running of the Ulster Schools Duathlon Championships Finals. 

This is an event where students can proudly represent both their school and local area and is a great opportunity for students to showcase their talents. The event is taking place on Sunday May 15th in Bangor Aurora Aquatics and Leisure Complex, Bangor, Co Down.

Event Details

A duathlon involves running, then cycling, then running again. Distances for the school's event will vary depending on the age of the participant. 

  • 9-11 years: 1km run - 4km cycle on grass - 800m run
  • 12-13 years: 1.5km run - 6km cycle on grass - 1km run
  • 14-15 years: 2km run - 7km cycle on grass - 1.5km run

Note: Any 9-11 year olds registered must be 10 before 31st December 2016.

Mondello Kids Duathlon 1

Registration is from 9:30am-10:00 and the event will run from 10:45am until 1pm.

The duathlon will a timed and prizes will be awarded to the fastest athletes in their respective age categories.

Cost of entry is £5 or €7 per child and payable through Triathlon Ireland’s online payment and registration system.

All parents or guardians must register their child online as a member of Triathlon Ireland (if not already) first and then register and pay for the race online. Junior membership is €5. Details on how to do this can be found below.
