Ras an Spídéil Triathlon

Ras an Spídéil Triathlon took place in lovely sunny conditions on Saturday with a field of 100 eager triathletes. Trísport Triathlon Club were delighted to host the inaugural running of this race which saw competitors from across the west take to the course. The mens field were led home by Galway Triathlon Clubs Art Naughton in a time of 1:00:19 thanks to a blistering run which say him overhaul the bike leaders to take the win. Eugene Feely and Martin Divilly filled out the remaining podium spots.

In the women race Marie Boland led home a competitive field with something to spare while Caron Ryan and local favourite Marie Boyle saw off the challengers to join Boyle on the podium.

A strong junior entry saw a very competitive race in which another up and coming Trísport member Cian Geraghty earned the junior men's win with Jessica Dunne securing the Junior women's title.

A great mornings racing back west enjoyed by all who took part. Trísport Triathlon Club would like to thanks participants and marshals for their involvement and look forward to building towards a repeat in 2016.
